十号胡同 Lot 10 Hutong

I love to browse other people food blog, so I noticed lot blogger recommended this place – Lot 10 Hutong Food Court. So I decided to pay a visit.

If you like to eat street food, you should visit Hutong Lot 10. It is a new food court right in the heart of KL where you can find and try different varieties of hawker food. There are popular food stalls like Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Noodles, Soong Kee Beef Noodles, Ho Weng Kee wantan Noodles, Ipoh Ngah Choy Chicken and etc etc. Beside Chinese cuisines, you can find Thai food, German food as well. Personally, the layout of the food court quite confusing, I need walked around, turned right, left to find the stalls.

I was recommended by food blogger to try the Soong Kee beef noddle. A set of beef noddle mixed beef soup+oily vege+Chinese tea goes for only RM8.90. The noddle comes with minced pork and the beef balls were really good, bouncy like fish balls. MIL ordered clay pot rice, she claimed it was too oily, but overall OK. The price for the food there was high. It costs me about RM7-90 for a glass of pure orange juice.

Fish Head Noddles @ Goon Wah, Off Jalan Kuchai Lama

I was introduced to this place by my colleague. So I decided went to this famous XO Fish Head Noddles restaurant at Kuchai lama for lunch with my colleagues. We spent about 20 minutes to locate the restaurant, sigh! So if you have a chance to visit this restaurant please equip yourself with a good map.

When we reached there, the shop is packed, finding a table is quite difficult, so we decided to share a table with the couples there. Goon Wah occupies two shoplots, one of which is air-conditioned. Kim Fong Sdn Bhd is next to the restaurant.. hehe.. KF claimed that the shop is open by him. ahem

We ordered their famous dish which is XO fish head noddles, a Claypot Lou Shue Fun and Guiness Stout Chicken. It didn’t take long for our food to arrive. The XO fish head noddles were served boiling hot in a claypot. The soup was nice, not too sour, less milk. It has a nice fishy taste and the noddles thick white, soft with a nice bite. They also add in the fried yam inside the fish head noddles.

The claypot Lou Shue Fun was drey and not oily, compare to the one in Seng Kee, Petaling Street. I prefer this Goon Wah one. Served with mince pork, fried dried prawns and egg, it was delicious.  The Guiness Chicken was delicious too.
The restaurant is close during weekend (Open from 930am till 330pm).

Pork Noddles @ Restaurant Win Heng Seng

Me and my colleagues love to go to the Restaurant Wen Hing located at Jalan Imbi for lunch. Wen Hing famous for its Pork Noddles, Char Kuey teow , as well as Mini egg tarts. Me and Hubby also went there few times during weekend, and of course my Chloe too.

So far, beside Subang, this is the best pork noddles I’ve try. The special is their soup; it is very tasty without too much MSG. I like it because it’s got a nice peppery flavour to it. The noodles are also very tasty as the meat sauce that they use really gets into the noodle. It costs RM6 for small bowl and RM7 for big bowl, quite expensive.

For the mini egg tart, it is RM0.60 each. They are absolutely delicious especially eaten hot. You can smell the freshly baked aroma of egg tarts. The egg tart is crispy type and thin. Yummy! Never forget to pack some when I go there.

My Hubby claimed that the chicken rice there not bad.. I never try.. Maybe you cna give a try if yopu have a chance to visit. It is very pack during lunch hour especially weekend. You can even find and add“Restaurant Win Heng Seng’ in Facebook. Cool! They are close on Wednesday (every 2 weeks).

Four Happy Season Restaurant_Wangsa Maju

Hubby brought me and Chloe for dinner at Four Season Restaurant located opposite Wangsa Walk Mall. Heard from ex-colleagues that the restaurant environment is nice, and has four season theme settings, Autumn, Spring, Summer and Winter. Benny chose Winter. It was pretty cold inside. When I walked in to the restaurant, noticed the table and sofa seating were quite dirty and old.

Hubby ordered Season Special’s Fried Rice and Hot & Spicy Crispy Fish, French fries for little Chloe, Lemon Chicken Spaghetti for myself. MIL ordered Cantonese Seafood Kuey Teow. The food taste average.  The fish is not fresh, and the spaghetti is too soft. I can’t even finish my food.

Ozeki Japanese Restaurant

Yesterday My lovely hubby brought me for dinner at Ozeki Japanese Restaurant in Menara TA. Frank, I’ve never heard about this restaurant before.

When I stepped in the restaurant, the deco is fabulous and there are few wine racks. The Menu is huge, literally. The place is quiet and if you noticed there are lot Japanese people loves to visit this place. The mains dishs include sushi, sashimi, tempura, grilled chicken/prawn, salmon shioyaki, unagi kabayaki, chicken teriyaki, and beef teriyaki. There also serves noodle set lunch and normal set lunch.

Hubby ordered Teppan Chicken Set for himself, Ten Zaru Soba for me.  We also tried the Beef Carpaccio- thinly slice beef with wasabi, Nama Kaki Ponzu (1/2 dozen of Fresh Oyster), and Hotategai Kushiyaki (Grill Scallop).  Overall the food was pretty good.
