Different Taste Restaurant(味不同海鲜坊) Famous Claypot Crab Noodles

Kedai Makanan Rasa Lain ( 味不同海鲜坊) Is one of the most famous seafood restaurant in Bercham, Ipoh, well known for their crabs in claypot. It can be served in either rice or glass vermicelli noddles .

So decided to visit this famous restaurant with Hubby Family members, It took us approximately 45 minutes drive from Batu Gajah. I had to make reservation 1 week in advance and MUST pre-ordered their signature dish because the restaurant always pack with people.

We ordered Claypot Glass Noodles Crab (RM66) and Claypot Rice Crab (RM58), each with 2 crabs prepare enough to serve 5 people. The soup was awesomely juicy and the crab meat was fresh. the glass noodles was cook to perfection.

Lemon steamed Lala also one of the signature dish here. Salted eggyolk Prawns was normal, noting special.

I find the price is quite reasonable . It was a great and satisfying meal for all of us.

銅鑼灣辣蟹莊Causeway Bay Spicy Crab @ Sri Hartamas

I’ve been reading some bloggers recommending Causeway Bay Spicy Crab restaurant in Desa Sri Hartamas which serves Typhoon Spicy crab. Had the chance to go with Hubby and family to try this for Hubby’s birthday celebration.

We ordered two crabs. The first crab we ordered was the signature Typhoon “Bei Fung Thong” Crab, 正宗避风塘辣蟹,RM160 there are a lot of stir fried garlic serves on top of the dish, and Salted Egg Yolk Crab, RM 80 the egg yolks were fried to crisp. My chloe loves to the crisp so much.

Some other dishes that we tried : Honey Garlic Fried Pork Ribs 蜜饯蒜香骨, RM 38 it combined the flavors sweet, sticky and garlic taste; Season Vegetables with Crab Meat 鲜蟹肉式瑶柱扒时蔬,RM50 and Steamed Fresh Water Prawns with Egg White and Rice Wine , RM90, I love this dish, the prawns was so fresh.

Steamed Paddy Frog With Lotus Leaf 荷香古法蒸田鸡, RM45 it was quite disappointing. The dinner ended up with a blow cake session J

The whole meal cost about RM480-00. Worth a try , this is located at the new building after you drive pass Souled Out at Hartamas.

Chinese Claypot Crab @ Restaurant Siu Siu 小小饭店

This restaurant was introduced by lot food blogger, so far I have been there 1 time and it was 5 years ago. They are famous for their claypot crab rice, salted egg crab/prawn, steam fish and much other stuff.

Yesterday, we went for this restaurant for dinner with our family. Siu Siu located in Robson Heights near Taman Seputeh, before the Thean Hou Temple. Coming from KL on Federal Highway, take the first exit after Kuen Cheng High School.

We ordered Claypot Crab Rice; basically this dish is just same as claypot chicken rice. They will remove the crab onto another plate and leave the rice in the pot for you to dig in. For me the dish is just ok. Salted Egg Prawn is another famous dish there. the yolk of the prawn is nice. The prawn are fresh and crispy. The other dishes are BBQ Char Siew – it is sweat, Patin Steam Fish, and vegetable.

Mei Keng Fatt Seafood @ Kuala Ampang

A farewell celebration for some of the Sport team members, we decided to have seafood Dinner located at Kuala Ampang.

After spending 20 minutes looking for the place, we finally reached.  We ordered 7 dishes, and later added on 2 other side dishes after checking on the menu again. We had Broccoli with Fresh Scallops, Smoke Duck for non seafood dishes. The Smoke Duck was rather good.

As for the seafood dishes, we had Two Taste Giant Water Prawns, Sweet and Sour Crab, Salted Egg Crab, Steamed River Patin, Dried Chili Lala, and Cripsy Fried Squids. The Patin fish is very fresh, compare to the Seafood Restaurant in Sri Petaling, this is better. The Crispy Fried Squid was my favourite, the salted egg crab too salty for me.

Check out the size of the crab. It’s really Huge! The claw’s size is bigger than a chicken drumstick. I am not kidding! It’s Australian Crab.  The sauce was delicious and we ordered buns to dip on it. I Love it. End up, 17 of us had 14kg of crab.

Mei Keng Fatt serves very good quality seafood but the price quite expensive.Quite happening with lots of ang mo eating there.
